Learning To Braid?

I have pretty good braids but I always have trouble with the tails. They often pop out the sides of the buttoned braid. I can't quite figure out what to do with them! Any advice?

I used to braid down in the late 90's & the braiders gave me a number to count to. Probably cause I don't pull up so this way my braiding down was more consistent & they could just come along zip-zip to pull up.

^ what I love about this post is the complete "code" it is written in. Total gobbledy gook to anyone unless they ever braided. :lol:
