I found this interesting article...now granted it's from Fox, my new favorite news site, and it's an opinion piece but I'm curious what others think of it. I get the sense from the other thread that many felt that Clinton was a better president than Obama has been...and this article supports that premise also.

I agree with it. People that vote for Obama, given his record, deserve exactly what they get if he gets voted back in. And when they are out of a job, inflation skyrockets, we have our credit rating dropped even lower, our national debt gets even higher, our military is weakened even further, they can congratulate themselves and say "At least we aren't racist, and our guy showed us his tax returns!"

Oh, this is by Dick Morris. He's great and one of my favorite commentator. He is the one who put together all of Bill Clinton's winning strategies back in the days of Clinton's running for President and while he was President. Dick Morris is very smart and knowledgeable and I'm always interested in his opinion.

Like Bush, Clinton's economy was tanking at the end of his term. The tech
bubble had burst. Clinton was the one who repealed the Glass Stegall Act
separating banking and investment banking houses. His DOJ doubled down
on the Community Reinvestment Act from Carter's era and pressured banks into granting these type of mortgages which contributed to the housing bubble that burst at the end of Bush's administration.
But the man is a master politician and did work with Congress who kept the
spending in check. He is also the first President convicted of perjury.
It's a popular fiction that the CRA was responsible for the housing crisis. It's been well debunked.

Repeal of Glass-Steagall was a bad thing. But all we hear from the right wing is that regulations like Glass-Steagall are evil and we should let the free market run wild.
I am all for Glass-Stegall being reinstated. However, if you look at the banks that failed, none would have been prevented by Glass-Stegall. Glass-stegall also would not have prevented the excessive leveraging of asset backed securities that fueled the financial crisis.
Can someone please explain to me how to do math Republican style?
