That was me, too ... getting on to ride bareback, using a mounting block that was a little small so I had to sort of "jump" to get on. Got a bit too...

I've known a few like that. For some reason they tend to be the equine equivalent of upper level DQs! And there are certainly circumstances under...

We have deerflies up the wazoo right now, but they seem to stay in wooded areas. I did discover yesterday that my trail riding ambitions must be set...

I'm in the process of getting my mare used to being vacuumed. Our first session resembled a push-me-pull-you accompanied by a great deal of snorting...

Mine uses backing up as an evasion, so I have to be careful. One of the dressage publications recently had advice from a trainer to think of...

Keep looking. I am not super picky (except about hay quantity) and I'm seeing a huge number of red flags with this barn you are thinking about...

About quietann
Location:
Andover, MA
Occupation:
Biostatistician/Data Manager
Biography:
Born in 1964, returned to riding in 2006 after a 25 year break. My original goal was to event -- at a low level -- before my body gave out. It did... so I now focus on enjoying my horse (a palomino Morgan mare born 1998) and dabbling in dressage and trail riding.
