Veloz has been successful in breed shows, winning national IALHA championships in Mature Stallions in Hand, Show Hack, Dressage Musical Freestyle, and was named the Best Lusitano in Show.

He has competed successfully in open dressage competition, earning the California Dressage Society Reserve Championship at fourth level frestyle against a field of warmbloods. He showed and won at Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I in 2011 and made a winning debut at Intermediate II in 2012. He will debut at Grand Prix in 2013.

Veloz displays the typical Lusitano flair for piaffe and passage while demonstrating an equal ability to extend. A fierce competitor in the show ring, he is a gentle friend at home, as willing to practise Grand Prix with a pro as to teach the basics to an amateur.
