It's A Centenary Sweep At The IHSA National Championship

May 6, Lexington, Ky.

The Centenary University (N.J.) Equestrian Team earned its second Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship in the last three years. The team maintained its lead in the Collegiate Cup throughout the show, held May 5-7 at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The Centenary team finished the competition with 33 points, with an 11-point lead ahead of Skidmore College (N.Y.) and St. Lawrence University (N.Y.) who tied for second. Mount Holyoke College (Mass.) finished third with 16 points.

Centenary Stays Strong In Day 2 At IHSA Nationals

Lexington, Ky.—May 6

Centenary College (N.J.) held onto its lead in the Collegiate Cup in Day 2 of the IHSA National Championship. A win by Natasha Klingenstein in the intermediate equitation over fences and Kayla Felstedt's third in the walk/trot/canter hunter seat equitation boosted the team's score to 26.

Skidmore College, the reigning national champions, still sit in second with a team score of 19 points, closely followed by another New York college, St. Lawrence University, with 18.

Centenary Cyclones Storm Day 1 Competition At IHSA National Championship

Centenary College charged into the lead with consistent rides during the May 5 opening day of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship at the Kentucky Horse Park. Centenary (N.J.) finished the day with 15 points, and Skidmore College (N.Y.) and St. Andrews Presbyterian College (N.C.) trail behind with 8 points each.

IHSA Road To Lexington Hitting Homestretch

The race is heating up on the road to Lexington, and no, we’re not talking the Kentucky Derby. The 2011 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships are returning May 5-8 to the Kentucky Horse Park, and it looks like the 37th of the nation’s leading collegiate battle for year-end titles promises to be a fight to the finish.

IHSA Announces National All-Academic Award

Because achievements in education are as important as in equitation, the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association has launched the IHSA National All-Academic Award to annually recognize the individual academic achievements of its participating undergraduate and alumni members. 

IHSA members will be named to the All-Academic First Team or All-Academic Second Team when they have been nominated by their coach, advisor, or designed representative, and have met the following criteria:

WEF Collegiate Equitation Challenge Wrap-Up

Feb. 11, Wellington, Fla.

Sixteen collegiate riders competed for the Winter Equestrian Festival Collegiate Equitation Challenge Trophy. The trophy, sponsored by the South Florida Hunter Jumper Association, was captured by Texas A&M senior, Brooke Coleman. Coleman defeated Auburn's (Ala.) Maggie McAlary, who was last year's champion, in the final round of competition.

New FAU Equestrian Team Makes Strong Showing Against Region's Best

PLANTATION, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s Equestrian Team, in its first competition and with a complement of Palm Beaches riders, made a strong showing on Feb. 5 versus the Southeast’s top collegiate programs.

The riding Owls placed in nine classes at the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) show hosted by the University of Miami at Plantation Equestrian Center in Broward County.
