    The World's Elite Show Jumpers Compete For The Gucci Gold Cup

    The Gucci Gold Cup which took place this evening carried a prize of $122,500 US dollars, and brought together the best 25 riders in the world. Participants included some of the biggest names in the discipline such as world number one Christian Ahlmann from Germany, London Olympic Gold medalist Ben Maher from the UK, the world’s number one female rider Edwina Tops Alexander from Australia and former European Champion Kevin Staut from France.

    Michael Hughes Named Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month for February

    Michael Hughes, of Allendale, NJ has been named the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month for February.

    Hughes competes in the East Conference Junior division of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series aboard Dromma. The month of February was successful for Hughes and his riding partner, as they earned a 1st place finish at the Ocala Winter Classic, and then another 1st place finish at the next week’s Ocala Winter Festival.

    The Red Hills International Horse Trials on March 8–10 will showcase Viva Florida 500 and the Paso Fino.     The Vermont Summer Festival Celebrates 20 Years in Manchester

    Flay to Receive Earle Mack Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Champion Award at June 6 Belmont Stakes Charity Celebration

    Chef and racehorse owner Bobby Flay has been selected as the recipient of the Earle I. Mack Thoroughbred Champion Award, annually given to an individual for outstanding efforts and influence on Thoroughbred racehorse welfare, safety and retirement.

    The award will be presented, fittingly enough, to Flay at his Bar Americain restaurant in New York City June 6 as part of the 2013 Belmont Stakes Celebration, which will serve as a fundraising benefit for the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation.

    Longines Speed Challenge Thrills Show Jumping Fans in Hong Kong

    Cheers, suspense and jubilation marked today’s inaugural Longines Hong Kong Masters, which opened with the spectacular Longines Speed Challenge before thousands of show jumping fans and guests at the sold-out equestrian arena of the AsiaWorld-Expo.

    The competition showcased speed and precision as the world’s top 25 riders competed to clear a course of 16 1.45-meter fences in the fastest and most accurate way possible, with two second penalties for every fault.
