LITTLESTOWN, PA (June 23, 2015) – It was sunny skies and warm temperatures at Swan Lake Stables as Adrienne Marciano and her own horse, Laspari, captured the coveted win in the $24,975 PJA Grand Prix, sponsored by Dover Saddlery, at the PJA Jumper Classics on Sunday, June 14.

Docutainment Films, Graceful Light Entertainment and Karin Reid Offield, the Producers of HARRY & SNOWMAN (www.harryandsnowman), the feature documentary; start the SNOWMAN RESCUE FUND at Omega Horse Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

The filmmaking team of HARRY & SNOWMAN visited the New Holland Auction, as well as the barn of the kill buyer who had just purchased 25 horses to be sent to slaughter in Mexico and Canada. What they saw was unimaginable, so they started THE SNOWMAN RESCUE FUND that day by rescuing three horses.

Fasig-Tipton Donates $100,000 in Support of the New Vocations Capital Campaign

Lexington, KY (June 22, 2015) New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is delighted to announce that Fasig-Tipton has donated $100,000 to sponsor the outdoor arena at their new racehorse retraining and rehoming facility on the historic Mereworth Farm. With phase one of the project to start construction this month, Fasig-Tipton is one of the founding supporters of the New Vocations $2 million capital campaign. The organization has also been a staunch supporter of the program’s efforts for many years through Blue Horse Charities.

Raven’s Choice Presented With The George Brown Bowl

The George Brown Bowl has been presented since 1985 to the horse judged to have had the best performance over the sanctioned spring races at the My Lady’s Manor, the Maryland Grand National and the Maryland Hunt Cup.

Raven’s Choice was third in the Maryland Grand National and won the Maryland Hunt Cup.

He is owned by Mrs. Cary W. Jackson and trained by Todd Wyatt.

Past winners of the Bowl include such illustrious horses as Buck Jakes, Welter Weight and Private Attack.

Equestrian Moms in California Needed! UC Davis Research Survey

Davis, CA: Jacqueline Barkoski, a doctoral student at UC Davis is conducting a survey to understand family health among women who own, care for, or work with horses. Barkoski will be surveying up to 6,000 women in California with the use of Study of Product Use for Relatives and their Family Health (SPUR: Family Health) online survey tool. The horse industry is a $4.1 billion dollar business in California. There are roughly 50,000 horse owners in the State and the majority of them are women.

    Thoroughbred Alliance Show Series Receives Maryland Agriculture Citation

    May 26, 2015 -  The Thoroughbred Alliance Show Series (TASS) has been awarded the Maryland Secretary of Agriculture's Citation Award to recognize outstanding organizations and/or individuals for their contributions to Maryland agriculture.

    The Maryland Horse Industry Board recommended that TASS receive this citation in honor of its many accomplishments including the start of a successful new show series showcasing the versatility of the state's Thoroughbreds and retired racehorses who prove they can have useful careers once they are finished racing.
