    Equine Rescue League 24th Anniversary Fall Open House and Loudoun Spring Farm Tour

    The Equine Rescue League marks a milestone this year – over 20 years of service to equines in need and the local community.
    This year’s Fall Open House will be a reflection of all the Equine Rescue League has accomplished as well as a celebration of the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who have come through the farm shelter.  Many magnificent creatures have passed through the League’s facility.  They have been physically and emotionally healed and have gone on to wonderful careers and loving homes.

    The First Equine Assisted Therapy Center in Virginia Celebrates 40th Anniversary

    Forty years ago, two influential community residents – 4-H leader Barbara Baird and journalist Leonard Warner – realized a mutual dream to provide equine-assisted therapy to Loudoun County’s residents with special needs. The notion of using horses to provide emotional and physical benefits to people with physical and cognitive disabilities was fairly new in the United States, although already well established in Great Britain, when Baird and Warner created what would become Loudoun Therapeutic Riding.

    North American League Announces Year-End Division Winners
