Delegate Edward Scott Named Virginia Legislator of the Year

The Sportsmen’s & Animal Owners’ Voting Alliance, a nationwide nonpartisan organization of animal owners and sportsmen, today named Delegate Edward “Ed” Scott (R-30) Virginia “Legislator of the Year 2009.” Scott, representing Culpeper, Madison and Orange counties, serves on the General Assembly's House Agriculture, General Laws and Transportation Committees, as well as the Science and Technology Committee.

ELCR and Partners Put Equines and Conservation First with Name Changes

ELCR stands for something different these days. Formerly, Equestrian Land Conservation Resource, ELCR is now Equine Land Conservation Resource. "We feel strongly that our mission to conserve land for horse-related activity should not be limited to riders," said President Nancy Hamill Winter. "Land conservation is an issue that unites all horse lovers, regardless of breed or discipline, and our new name recognizes that all horsemen are concerned with this threat. ELCR will still be recognizable by the iconic acronym and the tireless work to conserve land."

Meinse 439 and UB40 Kick Off Iron Spring Farm's Show Season with Championships

Coatesville, PA---Two of Iron Spring Farm's flagship stallions, Meinse 439 and UB40, began the 2010 show season with big wins. Meinse 439 claimed the Second Level Reserve Championship and High Score Non-Warmblood at Ocala Winter Dressage. The six-year-old KFPS stallion followed that up with wins in both of his Second Level classes at American Dressage Concours with scores to 70.714%. UB40 also impressed.

Canadian Dressage Team Rider Tom Dvorak Wins $1,000 At Midway Point of The Player’s Club Dressage Under the Stars

Wellington, FL (February 22, 2010) – Canadian dressage rider Tom Dvorak, a member of the 2007 Canadian Pan Am team, wowed the crowd and judges during the fourth week of the star-studded Top Shelf Dressage Under the Stars competition at the Player’s Club & Restaurant with a spot on passage tour, fluid pirouettes and hip music that had the audience on their feet and dancing along. Dvorak’s victory, during the midway point of the Dressage Under the Stars series, came aboard Austin Walch’s Hanoverian stallion Viva’s Saliere W.
