The filmmaking team of HARRY & SNOWMAN visited the New Holland Auction, as well as the barn of the kill buyer who had just purchased 25 horses to be sent to slaughter in Mexico and Canada. What they saw was unimaginable, so they started THE SNOWMAN RESCUE FUND that day by rescuing three horses.

Lexington, KY (June 22, 2015) New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is delighted to announce that Fasig-Tipton has donated $100,000 to sponsor the outdoor arena at their new racehorse retraining and rehoming facility on the historic Mereworth Farm. With phase one of the project to start construction this month, Fasig-Tipton is one of the founding supporters of the New Vocations $2 million capital campaign. Davis, CA: Jacqueline Barkoski, a doctoral student at UC Davis is conducting a survey to understand family health among women who own, care for, or work with horses. Barkoski will be surveying up to 6,000 women in California with the use of Study of Product Use for Relatives and their Family Health (SPUR: Family Health) online survey tool. The horse industry is a $4.1 billion dollar business in California. There are roughly 50,000 horse owners in the State and the majority of them are women.
