Spruce Meadows Summer Tournaments to Feature Increased Prize Money and More FEI World Ranking Classes in 2014

Calgary, AB, Canada – May 19, 2014 – Spruce Meadows looks forward to welcoming many of the world’s best horses and riders to their Summer Series tournaments in 2014, beginning June 5 and continuing with five tournaments through July 13. The tournaments have a 7% increase in prize money this year, featuring four 5* events and more opportunities to earn important FEI World Ranking points.

Pablo Barrios & Romeo Race to Victory in $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic at Kentucky Spring Classic

Lexington, KY - May 15, 2014 - It has become a Thursday tradition to see Venezuela's Pablo Barrios in the winner's circle at the Kentucky Horse Shows, and today was no exception. The speedy rider once again topped the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, this time aboard the Romeo Group's Romeo, while the ZL Group's Zara Leandra settled for third. Todd Minikus slipped into the second place position with a quick and clear jump-off riding the Quality Group's Quality Girl.

Nation’s Best Compete for Interscholastic Equestrian Association Hunt Seat Championship Next Week

Cleveland Heights, Ohio—May 9, 2014 –More than 350 of the nation’s leading middle school and high school equestrians will converge on the Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, Massachusetts on Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18 to compete for top honors in Hunt Seat Classes in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) National Finals. The student-­‐riders, in grades 6-­‐12, will travel from across the United States to participate in the completion.

Christopher Payne Leads Hallway Feeds National Hunter Derby Series

Lexington, KY - May 13, 2014 - The Kentucky Spring Horse Shows began on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, and one of the highlight events was the kick-off of the 2014 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Series. The Hallway Feeds Series consists of seven national hunter derby events to be held during the 2014 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park. East Dorset, Vermont - The world’s best course designers will return to Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset, VT, this summer for the Vermont Summer Festival. The six-week show circuit prides itself on the high caliber of designers, with six top names on the schedule for 2014. Mark Bluman and LaGran Dash for the Cash in the $20,000 Bluegrass Classic at Kentucky Spring Horse Show

Lexington, KY - May 10, 2014 - When speed is key to winning an event, it helps to be riding one of the fastest horses in the world. LaGran was the fastest horse at the 2010 World Equestrian Games with Pablo Barrios, and today he was the fastest horse in the $20,000 Bluegrass Classic with Mark Bluman of Colombia. The pair outraced a starting field of 38 competitors during the speed event with a blazing clear round three seconds ahead of the closest finisher.
