The Olympic short list for eventing became official, and since Mr. Medicott and I are on it, we’ll be heading to England in less than a week. We’re a little more than six weeks out from the Olympic Games, and the journey just charges on.

Rolex Kentucky will be the culmination of a tremendous amount of work throughout the spring by every rider there, and I’m excited to have two lovely horses entered: my Olympic nominees, Mr. Medicott and Veronica. I’m thrilled with how they’ve come through the spring season, and I’m really looking forward to this three-day.

If I were going to stand for anything, I would want to be known as a rider who always keeps an open mind and is always trying to improve. I hope to learn something new every day about how to do a better job with my horses. So as a rider, I’m as committed and passionate as ever about doing the best I can this year, with my sights on London.

I have five horses in consideration for Olympic selection, and they are, of course, [Theodore O’Connor] and Hugh Knows, Mandiba, Allstar and [Ralph Hill’s former mount] Bad Boy Billy.
