A Supportive Community Is One Of The Best Things About Eventing

Greetings to everyone out in eventing land! Again I apologize for not writing since Plantation Field. Though things have been busy, I should have been on here sooner!

I had a good weekend eventing at Flora Lea Horse Trials after Plantation. Indie won the training horse division there, while Nina Gardner’s Celtic Heritage and Catching Melody both placed third in their respective divisions.

Back-To-Back Excitement

I have come to the terms with the fact that, at the moment, I am completely incapable of sleeping in anymore. This really is quite unfortunate.

I am currently sitting on my friend Lillian Heard’s couch at 6:30 in the morning on the Monday following the Plantation Field horse trials, which was an exciting weekend for me.

Good Results At Richland Park

Well we are on the road again, leaving for the American Eventing Championships. I realized I have yet to talk about my weekend at Richland Park, which I was very pleased about.

Cambalda did his second advanced, and though his dressage test carried a bit of tension in the walk work, I was happy with it. He is still green at the level, obviously, but he is handling the challenges fairly well.

Walkabout, who is very, very green at the level, did his first two-star dressage test. He handled the pressure well, but there is still room for improvement.

A Wonderful Waredaca

Well it’s 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning, and as I'm lying here sitting in the back seat of my truck with Bizzie and Emma Ford’s dog Charlie, I'm reflecting over the past two weeks of my life here in eventing land. I really lead an interesting life...

Their First Advanceds Done

Hey there everyone! I am pleased to say that I am back from the Millbrook Horse Trails with two newly made advanced horses!

I was thrilled on a whole with Catch A Star and Cambalda’s perfomances this weekend. Though there are some things I need to work on—as always—both horses were respectively fifth in their respective advanced divisions.

A Visit Home And A New Member Of The Family

Hello from sunny California. I am currently sitting in the ER waiting to get a reoccurring cyst on my tailbone looked at. I know, gross right? The last time I had one was right before NAYRC two years ago, and it seems as though I have a knack for getting them when I am in California.

Summer Horse Trials

I have to apologize for the lack of writing on my fine blog here! Things have been busy, busy at True Prospect as the competition for this summer has been in full swing, and I've had quite a number of rides going!

Surefire Horse Trials and Maryland Horse Trials 1 went quite well. With seven horses at Surefire and eight this weekend at Maryland I've had my hands full, which has been great.

All the horses have gone quite well with a few ups and downs, but for the most part they’ve put in solid performances.

Remember Your First Event?

This past week at True Prospect Farm has been a good one. Emma was getting ready to head down to Florida with Truluck and Woodburn to dressage land for the next month, while the rest of us competed the up-and-coming horses at the Plantation Horse Trials.

A Whirlwind Of Activity At Waredaca

This past weekend was quite a busy one for me and for everyone at True Prospect Farm. I rode seven at the Waredaca Horse Trials in Maryland, which kept me busy, but it was quite a good weekend for me.

On Saturday, Walkabout competed in his second intermediate horse trials. He posted a 31 in the dressage, which I was quite happy with, and ended up coming in sixth out of 24 horses in the division.

Team Brannigan Adds A Horse

I’m currently laying in the back of my truck with Emma’s dog Charlie and Bizzie on our way down to compete at Chattahoochee Hills. (Emma Ford is Phillip Dutton’s groom.) I am quite excited because Walkabout will be making his intermediate debut! Roosevelt will also be competing in the training level championships for Area III. With eight horses in the trailer, it's going to be a fun trip, that's for sure.
