World Class Equestrians Dominate International Competitions

It was a banner day for the Americans at the Palm Beach Grand Prix – second place was secured by Tina Konyot, who rode in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games as the United States’ number one dressage rider, and her 13-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion Calecto V.

“I try to improve every time we go out,” said Konyot.”This was one of my better Grand Prix tests.”

The following day, on March 12th, 4,200 spectators at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center watched Brazil’s Olympic gold medalist Rodrigo Pessoa and Let’s Fly jump to victory in the $231,000 FEI World Cup Grand Prix CSI-W Presented by Bainbridge Companies.

“He was a nice horse to compete – a good, quality horse,” observed Pessoa.”He jumped really well in both rounds.”

American Olympian Lauren Hough and Quick Study had the fastest four-fault round in 49.50 seconds to finish third behind Pessoa in the same Grand Prix event.Her third place finish followed Hough’s spectacular victory on March 6th in the $150,000 Wellington Equestrian Realty Grand Prix.

“Quick Study jumped really well in the first round,” said Hough.”I had my work cut out for me – and overall I’m thrilled.”
