The 13-year-old Rhinelander (Fidermark—Wapita, Worldchamp) will go to Rothenberger, 19, after Vilhelmson-Silfven competes the gelding at the CDI-W Odense (Denmark) this weekend.

Vilhelmson-Silfven, who spends her winters in Wellington, Fla., paired up with Favourit after Antonia Ax:son Johnson purchased the horse in 2009. They competed for Sweden in the 2009 and 2011 European Championships, the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (Ky.) and the 2010 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Finals (the Netherlands), as well as many five-star competitions.

“We hadn’t planned on selling Favourit at this time, but the Rothenberger family came to us after the Olympics, showing interest,” Vilhelmson-Silfven told Eurodressage. “Sanneke Rothenberger is a very talented and committed young rider with a long list of fine merits. When she tried Favourit it worked out extraordinarily well, and they are a perfect match. He will have a wonderful home with the Rothenberger family.”

Rothenberger won the 2011 Young Rider World Cup (Germany) aboard Deveraux OLD.
