The inaugural USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Championship debuts Aug. 14-15 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Any horse enrolled in the program that has competed in a minimum of two USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Stake classes at competitions starting between Dec. 1, 2012, and July 31, 2013, is eligible for the championship. A list of qualified horses is available online and is updated weekly.

The guaranteed minimum prize money in 2013 is $25,000 plus 65 percent of all annual enrollment fees collected. A minimum of 50 percent of each $850 entry fee is also added back to the guaranteed prize money and paid out to award winners in each round. As of June 11, the prize money, before entry fee addback, is $99,002.50. If 50 horses enter and compete, the prize money will total $120,252.50 With more than 100 horses qualified, the potential for a significantly higher prize money total is strong.

Official invitations will begin to be issued mid-June, and entries close Aug. 1, but the prize list and entry forms are available online now for those who would like to enter early.
