USEA Accepting Host Location Applications For 2016 AEC

The U.S. Eventing Association is accepting expressions of interest from potential host sites of the American Eventing Championships, beginning in 2016.

The AEC, which is conducted over four days, may be held anywhere in the United States. While the competition has previously run during the month of September, all potential dates may be considered. Historically, the AEC has been held at a location for three years at a time, but the USEA is open to contracts of varying terms.

Expressions of interest should be submitted in the form of a letter of 500 words or less. Only the owner(s) or operator(s) of a prospective host site may nominate said venue to be a host site. All expressions should be submitted by Jan. 15, 2015.

The event attracts an average of 500 riders and approximately 2,000 spectators, and it has an annual economic impact of more than $1 million. The championships include six levels of competition, from beginner novice to advanced. The 2014 Nutrena AEC was held at the Texas Rose Horse Park, and the 2015 version will be there as well.
