New York news stations are reporting that a man shot and killed in his home in Setauket, N.Y., is Long Island hunter/jumper trainer Ross Reisner. Reisner taught out of Maple Lane Farm in Mattituck, N.Y.
News reports indicate that shots were fired into the home from outside on the night of Sept. 24, hitting Reisner. He passed away from gunshot wounds to the chest at Stony Brook University Hospital.

According to a New York Daily News article, Reisner and his partner of 24 years were sitting on a couch in their home when shots were fired into the room through a window. Police are in search of an acquaintance of Reisner’s in connection with the shooting.
