Wellington, FL – December 12, 2014 – With the prospect of endless weeks of all-weather footing on the horizon, now is the time to think of the convenient alternative-The Wellington Turf Tour. Come over and spend an hour, spend the morning or afternoon, or spend the entire day, it’s totally up to you and your schedule. The Ridge at Wellington’s popular Turf Tour Series returns in 2015, bigger and better than ever. With unparalleled hospitality, including great food and drink, a place to sit under the shade of a tree or just chat with old friends, The Ridge brings back memories of the days when horse showing was fun.

The “Turf Tour” Grand Prix Series hosted by Olympian Nona Garson and her partner, George D’Ambrosio, has added an additional week to the 2015 schedule, now boasting 12 weeks of top-tier competition. The series has returned to the Wellington show scene with resurgence, with the 1.30m-1.35m Jumpers beginning January 7, 2015, and the Friday Grand Prix set to start January 9, 2015 culminating in an exciting finale on March 27, 2015. In addition to the fabulous Turf Tour, The Ridge at Wellington is bringing back their popular Equitation Tuesdays, a chance for riders to qualify for the equitation finals without the pressures of competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Designed to develop young riders, as well as young horses, the Turf Tour has become the talk of the Wellington circuit with an unprecedented amount of earnings at stake for Level II Jumpers. The 12 weeks have been hailed as the highlight of the season with top riders, amateurs and juniors alike, choosing to ride in the invitational series, challenging their young horses to a new experience complementing the Winter Equestrian Festival, while offering a distinctive change of pace. This year the series is back and the total prize money has ballooned to just under $500,000.
