SAN DIEGO – The Training, Education & Research Institute (TERI, Inc.), a San Diego-based non-profit center of excellence and social change for persons with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families, will host its fourth annual Cuvee delle Vite event Saturday, April 30 in San Marcos. The internationally recognized organization is celebrating completion of the Harriet E. Pfleger Therapeutic Equestrian Center and the start of the final building phase of its new program headquarters, the Charles R. Cono Campus for Life Quality.

The event will commence with a ribbon cutting at noon followed by an afternoon of wine tastings, live music, an exhibition and sale of art created by TERI clients, and a special message from TERI spokeswoman, Grammy-winner and former Destiny Child’s member Michelle Williams. Marking its fourth year supporting TERI, Vigilucci’s of San Diego has donated its services and will prepare their fresh Italian cuisine for guests.

Admission to the event is part of TERI’s brick campaign. A donation of $500 per couple buys one naming brick and admittance to Cuvee delle Vite, allowing attendees to leave their legacy on the path to the new campus.

“Cuvee delle Vite” is a representation of TERI’s commitment to the highest standards of quality and a true ‘blending of lives,’” said TERI CEO and founder, Cheryl Kilmer. “We are thrilled to be hosting the fourth annual Cuvee delle Vite at our new Harriet E. Pfleger Equestrian Center on the Charles R. Cono Campus for Life Quality. Attendees will see that our new campus will not only change the way services are  provided to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, but will set the precedent on establishing  the highest quality of life for individuals with special needs.”

The new equestrian center, the first building completed on TERI’s new campus, is a state-of-the-art facility offering unique therapeutic opportunities for people with special needs.  Featuring world-class stables, arenas, and riding trails, TERI’s students will participate in highly individualized horsemanship, physical therapy, and sensory integration programs, all designed to meet therapeutic goals like improved coordination and confidence.

The Charles R. Cono Campus for Life Quality first broke ground in 2009 and is expected to be finished in 2014. In addition to the new equestrian center, the campus will house all of TERI’s initiatives and model programs. This includes life planning and coaching, fitness and aquatics, the arts, a culinary institute, IT, medical, agriculture, research, green/sustainability and curriculums for preschool through 12th grade and adult education/vocational training.
