The U.S. Equestrian Federation Board of Directors has named the Roanoke Valley Horse Show (Va.), the Norfolk Hunt Horse Show (Mass.) and Dressage At Devon (Pa.) USEF Heritage Competitions, the highest honor currently held by USEF horse shows.
The designation of a heritage competition, as defined in the USEF Rule Book, GR301.6 is reserved for competitions that have been in existence for at least 25 years, promoted and grown equestrian sport and made contributions to the community outside the gates of the horse show by achieving, maintaining and promoting the equestrian ideals of sportsmanship and competition.

“These shows have become a part of the fabric of the American showing scene. With their endurance, dedication to philanthropic efforts and impact on their communities, they are perfect examples of what we look for when designating heritage competitions,” said John Long, USEF CEO.
The newly titled shows join 14 existing USEF Heritage Competitions:

- Hampton Classic Horse Show (N.Y.)
- Deep Run Horse Show (Va.)
- Devon Horse Show (Pa.)
- Keswick Horse Show (Va.)
- Upperville Colt & Horse Show (Va.)
- Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show (Ct.)
- Waterloo Hunt Horse Show (Mich.)
- Menlo Charity Horse Show (Calif.)
- Warrenton Horse Show (Va.)
- Portuguese Bend National Horse Show (Calif.)
- Buffalo International Horse Show (N.Y.)
- St. Louis National Charity Horse Show (Mo.)
