Team Brannigan Adds A Horse

I’m currently laying in the back of my truck with Emma’s dog Charlie and Bizzie on our way down to compete at Chattahoochee Hills. (Emma Ford is Phillip Dutton’s groom.) I am quite excited because Walkabout will be making his intermediate debut! Roosevelt will also be competing in the training level championships for Area III. With eight horses in the trailer, it's going to be a fun trip, that's for sure.

On an exciting note, I’m thrilled to say that after months of searching I’ve found a lovely young horse to purchase. His name is Indie, and he’s a Dutch Warmblood that I got from Kelli Temple and Carl Bouckaert. He has a lovely temperament and wonderful gaits. I am thrilled to own him. He makes me smile every time I sit on him and see him. I think Cooper might have sent him my way, because he has a very similar personality.

I had a friend bring Indie to New Jersey for me so he got the chance to spend the weekend at the Horse Park. That was wonderful because I got to see what he was like in a show environment, which he handled quite well. He hasn’t evented yet, but he trotted around like it was no big deal.

He also has another wonderful skill—getting loose! He practiced it numerous times at the horse show and in the trailer on the ride home… What a champ!

I feel extremely lucky to have another amazing horse in my life….

Take care
