Aiken, SC (June 9, 2011) – Six lucky sleuths recently became proud owners of DSB Dressage Sport Boots thanks to the “Find Ravel” contest on Custom Saddlery’s website. The contest featured photos of the highly decorated Ravel, a world famous 13-year-old KWPN gelding owned by Akiko Yamazaki, hidden throughout the website. Contestants who emailed in the correct number of hidden photos were entered in a drawing, and the six names drawn were then presented with a pair of DSB Dressage Boots. United States Team member Steffen Peters rides Ravel in a dressage saddle made by Custom Saddlery.

The winners of the DSB Boots are Nina Klein of Valencia, California, Stephanie Lariviere of Montreal, Quebec, Lina Furrey of Castaic, California, Serge Leduc of Boucherville, Quebec, Gustavo Jauregui of Canyon Country, California, and Savannah Furrey of Montrose, California. “We had a huge response to the contest on our website,” said Cary Wallace, President and Master Saddle Fitter at Custom Saddlery. “It is very obvious that Steffen and Ravel both have a strong fan base because people flocked to our website to search for the photos of Ravel and enter the contest in order to try and win the DSB Dressage Boots.”

Peters considers Ravel his “horse of a lifetime” and credits his saddle from Custom Saddlery with helping the pair achieve worldwide success. “When Custom Saddlery approached me seven years ago I told them I needed a saddle that was shock absorbent because I ride a lot of bouncy horses, and Custom Saddlery delivered and obviously I have had a lot of success in my saddle,” Peters said. Peters and Ravel have participated in numerous international level dressage competitions, the most recent of which being the World Dressage Masters in Palm Beach where they scored an impressive 80.872%.

Wallace said he has enjoyed watching the success of Peters and Ravel over the years and through their long-standing partnership he has been able to witness first hand the importance of proper saddle fit. “At Custom Saddlery, we believe every saddle should fit both horse and rider. All of our saddles are anatomically designed for this purpose and hand-crafted from the finest leathers,” he said. “Thanks to watching the partnerships of so many of our sponsored riders, we also started the Custom Saddlery’s All American Saddle Fit Challenge, a program designed to bring awareness to the fact that all saddles need to fit properly for both the horse and rider. The All American Saddle Fit Challenge contest enabled people to actually win custom fit saddles.”

Wallace added that he was very pleased with the response to the contest. “Each person who correctly emailed in the number of hidden Ravel photos were then entered to win a pair of DSB Dressage Sport Boots,” Wallace said. “The winners are going to love their DSBs, which are designed to provide excellent protection as well as comfort for the horse.”

Fans of Peters and Ravel may also want to check out Custom’s website (www.mysaddle.com) and watch a candid, relaxed interview of Peters called a ‘Custom Moment,’ where they discuss everything from what Steffen eats for breakfast to if he likes dogs. “It’s a great video and really lets you see the real Steffen,” Wallace said.
