Halifax, MA – April 22, 2014 – The management team at the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, now permanently established at the new and improved Fieldstone Show Park in beautiful Halifax Massachusetts, has reached a coverage agreement with NESN. As a result of this landmark agreement, there will be a featured broadcast, “World Class Show Jumping in New England,” a program featuring The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament and its horses and riders.

“This is something every organizer only hopes to achieve, big-time TV coverage of an equestrian event,” said Show Chairman Jeffery Papows. “It is always hard for equestrianism to break through the mainstream sports’ lock on programming to find any airtime. We are thrilled that this agreement with NESN will not only secure broadcast time for our featured event, the $75,000 Agero Grand Prix, but will also offer some wonderful pre-event coverage as well.”

NESN will be onsite taping all week long during this year’s Silver Oak Jumper Tournament on August 13 – 17, 2014.  Much of the featured footage will be captured on Sunday August 17, when the D&G Ventures Mini Prix and Agero Grand Prix will take center stage as the two main events.

The program will air at 4:30pm on Saturday, August 23rd, immediately following the conclusion of Red Sox postgame coverage.

NESN will be promoting the event during the summer leading up to the program and NESN’s directors, and producers are working with Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Chairman Jeff Papows. “We’ll try hard to capture this highly dramatic, visual and beautiful sport so it can reach the wide audience NESN has captured for Boston sports, including the Bruins and Red Sox for the past thirty years,” Papows said.

The New England Sports Network, or NESN [NESS-en], is a regional television network that covers the six New England states. It is available on New England cable systems, and nationally as NESN National (in both standard definition and high definition) through select cable and satellite TV providers.

NESN is the primary broadcaster of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins – serving as the exclusive home for all games not aired by a national broadcaster. NESN also features sports news coverage on NESN Sports Today, as well as minor league baseball, regional college sports, outdoor shows, sports talk shows, and Premier League soccer games.

At the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, they will have a chance to highlight some of the world’s best equestrians, including many Olympic medalists, competing daily in hard-fought, nose to nose competitions in a beautiful setting.

The tournament, voted one of the best horse shows in America, according to the latest rankings by the North American Riders Group (NARG), is known as ‘the rider’s show,” but also offers tremendous amenities for spectators as well. Sunday has always become the most popular day at Silver Oak, with tremendous shopping opportunities and fun for the entire family, including the youngsters. In addition, the VIP champagne brunch has become one of the “must do” events in the New England area. The brunch offers up close seating and fantastic food that, over the years, has received rave reviews across the board. “The food is great and the location is perfect,” added Papows. “The show jumping is right there in front you. You can almost reach out and touch the horses in our prime VIP location,” he laughed. A limited supply of tables for the Sunday festivities are on sale right now.
