Gorre, ridden by Great Britain’s Joe Clayton, sustained a broken leg while jumping in a CSI grand prix in Poland, according to Horse & Hound. The horse was subsequently euthanized.

“We were in the grand prix, and we’d done three or four jumps and came to a combination,” Clayton told Horse & Hound. “He jumped the middle part fantastic, but then we can’t work out whether he injured himself on landing or take off before the third part, but he couldn’t do anything behind.”

Gorre was a 9-year-old Belgium Warmblood (Toulon—Sarona, Ferro) owned by Valerie Whitfield and Mark Williams.
