Sapphire Gets Back To Work!

After a very nice weekend, everyone was home at Castle Hill. All the horses enjoyed being in their stalls with no horse show. This doesn't happen very often, but it's a nice change when it does.

After a very nice weekend, everyone was home at Castle Hill. All the horses enjoyed being in their stalls with no horse show. This doesn’t happen very often, but it’s a nice change when it does.

Veterinarian Dr. Tim Ober paid a visit on Wednesday to check the horses that returned home from Europe, who all looked great. Sara jogged perfectly and was feeling very fresh and happy. She’d had a jumping school the day before the vet came so he would get a good feel if anything was bothering her. Now she is getting ready for the Hampton Classic next week, so she works twice a day this week, which isn’t her most favorite thing, but she loves all of the attention.

On Saturday, McLain will jump her again, and then she’ll have a little lighter week before shipping to the horse show. Normally she loves The Hampton Classic. Sara loves the atmosphere there with all of the people. Last year we had a fantastic show there, when she won both grand prixs. It’s going to be hard to repeat that, but we have a fantastic string of horses, so it’s very exciting.

So with 37 days until we leave for the WEG, there is certainly a lot of excitement, but also a little tension! We’ll just keep on doing what we do the best that we can and hope everything falls into place on the day…..
