Dressage rider Rene DiClemente added another award to her long list of accomplishments when she won the Everglades Dressage Overall High Score Adult Amateur Award with her Hanoverian gelding WoJo at the Gold Coast Dressage Association’s Fall Fling show. Sponsored by Everglades Dressage Farm and Bethany Peslar, DiClemente and WoJo won the High Score Award with a 70.435% in the Training Level I class.

WoJo, a gorgeous 16.3 hand, black, five-year-old Hanoverian gelding is a new horse for DiClemente. “I have had him about eight months and he is just beginning to travel,” DiClemente, of Palm City, Florida said. “I was very proud of him during his test because he is a hot horse and can get wound up. But he paid attention to me and was soft in the bridle and took his canter departs and half halts. He was really listening.”

DiClemente, who has found a great deal of success in the dressage ring over the years, said it was her first time to win a high score award. She said she is looking forward to her partnership with WoJo, a horse that Joe Sandven brought back from Germany. “WoJo also won the Training Level 4 class with a 70% and we were competing against trainers so it was a very big accomplishment,” Rene said.

Peslar, a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist and successful High Performance Grand Prix competitor, will sponsor the Everglades Dressage Overall High Score Adult Amateur Award at select shows during the winter dressage season. “I am thrilled to be sponsoring the Overall High Score Adult Amateur Award,” Peslar said. “I believe that when awards are sponsored in these divisions it really gives the riders more to strive for and a nice chance for recognition.”
