Register Today For FEI CCI* Event At Colorado Horse Park

Registration began on April 2, 2013 for the Colorado Horse Park's CCI1*, one of only 17 Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) qualifiers in the United States. The three-phase event will be held from May 31 through June 2. A Training 3-Day and Horse Trials will also be held on the same dates. Registration begins on April 16 and runs through May 14 for the Horse Trials and Training 3-Day."We really look forward to FEI Eventing," said Vivien Van Buren of the Colorado Horse Park. The best in the area compete, including , Martha McDowell, Erika Carson, Christian Eagles, Kristi Rodasevich, Nicole Jones Taylor and many more.

An international “who’s who” of the eventing discipline will be on hand to officiate. Ana Schravesande of Mexico will serve as the Technical Delegate, while Helen Christie of New Zealand will act as the CCI presiding judge. Brian Curry has signed on as course designer of the stadium jumping phase and Gwen Kaawaloa will judge dressage.

Competitors will attempt clear rounds and perfect scores over the David O’Connor and James Atkinson designed cross-country course with its three water complexes, banks, ditches, trakehners and challenging obstacles. The course is known for its fabulous gallop track and interesting technical questions for the upper levels. They will also enjoy the many recent improvements at Colorado Horse Park, which include all new top-notch European GGT footing in many of the arenas.

2 p.m. Briefing and course walk for FEI competitors and coaches; 4:30 p.m.

First Horse Inspection; HT course open 3 p.m.
Fri: Dressage- 8 a.m.

Sat: Cross-country- 8 a.m.
Sun: 8:30 a.m. CCI: Final Horse Inspection; 11:00 a.m. Show Jumping for CCI horses; HT: Show Jumping-8 a.m.

From North:

I-25S exit Ridgegate Parkway – go east under the freeway.  Ridgegate Parkway to S. Chambers Road, approx 3 miles (Traffic light) – turn right/south onto Chambers Road. At end of Chambers Road turn left/east onto Hess Road.  Hess Road to Parker Road/Hwy 83 – turn right/south onto Hwy 83 approx 4 miles to Bayou Gulch Road. (Traffic light). Follow signs to Colorado Horse Park.

From South: I-25N, exit Founder’s Parkway.  Founder’s Parkway to Highway 86, approx 4 miles (traffic light). Turn east/left onto Hwy. 86 to Franktown/Hwy 83. At Franktown go north on 83 approx. 7 mi. to Bayou Gulch Rd. (Traffic light), turn right/east onto Bayou Gulch Rd. Follow signs to Colorado Horse Park.
