The B sample for Maxime Livio’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games mount Qalao des Mers has also tested positive for acepromazine, reported French equestrian publication Equidia Life today, Oct. 21.
Qalao des Mers’ A sample tested positive immediately following the eventing competition at the World Games on Aug. 29. Livio finished fifth individually, the highest-placed French rider, and he helped the team to fourth. Those places currently stand pending a Fédération Equestre Internationale Tribunal hearing. The date for that hearing hasn’t yet been announced.
If France loses their team placing, they will also lose their 2016 Olympic Games qualification and will have to obtain it at the 2015 FEI European Eventing Championships.
