Lexington, KY (May 6, 2016)— Omega Alpha Ambassador Lauren Kieffer left Lexington, Kentucky with multiple awards after the 2016 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Land Rover. Kieffer and her long-time mount Veronica placed second overall in the competition to Germany’s Michael Jung, which earned Kieffer the title of United States Equestrian Federation CCI4**** National Champion for the second year. Kieffer also won EQUIS Boutique’s Best Presented Horse Award. Omega Alpha, a company that produces all-natural equine health supplements and sponsors Kieffer and her competitive team of horses, was on hand to cheer Kieffer on and add some extra excitement to the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. Lauren Kieffer, who hails from The Plains, Virginia, and Veronica have been successful partners since the now 13-year-old mare was six. “I actually had Veronica to sell as a young horse, and she was purchased by Team Rebecca for Karen O’Connor,” Kieffer explained. “I rode Veronica a lot for Karen whenever she was gone, and then Karen had an accident and Team Rebecca and Karen generously offered me the ride on Veronica at the beginning of 2013.” Veronica has carried Kieffer to several top place finishes at international competitions throughout the years.

During competition time, Kieffer and Veronica looked even more flawless. “I am thrilled with Veronica,” Kieffer smiled after the competition. “We went in with a goal to finish well, and sometimes you need a little luck on your side, but she was really on form. She has become a very seasoned mare with a lot of experience. I want to keep her on form and pick away at little things, but we take it one event at a time.”

Veronica was not Kieffer’s only star horse at Rolex this year. “I was certainly thrilled with Veronica, but my proudest moment of the weekend was finishing Landmark’s Monte Carlo’s first four star,” she said. “Landmark’s Monte Carlo is a homebred of Jacqueline Mars and we have produced him since birth, so it was very special when he jumped around so well and got the Land Rover Ride of the Day in cross country.”
