Halifax, MA – March 11, 2014 – – The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, to be held at its new home at Fieldstone Show Park on August 13-17, 2014, announced today that the MSPCA at Nevins Farm has been chosen as one its featured charities for this year’s event.

The MSPCA at Nevins Farm, in Methuen, Massachusetts, is a unique 55-acre animal care complex that provides shelter and adoption services for both farm and companion animals; an exceptional equine program, including rehabilitation, adoption services, and a world-renowned equine ambulance program; community outreach and education, including a popular summer camp for children; resources for pet owners who have lost a companion animal, including a crematory and cemetery; and humane law enforcement services that uphold animal protection laws and provide care to animal victims of abuse and neglect.

“We couldn’t think of a finer charity or cause to include in this year’s Silver Oak Jumper Tournament,” said Show Chairman Jeff Papows. “We already take special care of the children with our Children’s Wish International Foundation contribution each year and now, we’ve picked a charity that looks out for the animals! It’s a perfect match.”

“Our being named one of official charities for the 2014 Silver Oak Jumper Tournament marks an exciting time in the history of Nevins Farm because over the years we have provided shelter and care to hundreds of horses who need care before they can be adopted into new homes,” said Melissa Ghareeb, barn manager at MSPCA-Nevins Farm. “We’re so looking forward to showcasing some of our adoptable horses at the event this summer and reconnecting with so many good friends in the horse world.”
