Wellington, FL (February 16, 2011) – Argentinean rider Micaela Mabragana, who trains with Dressage Olympian Lendon Gray, competed Hampton Green Farm’s Spanish PRE stallion, Idilio II, at the Wellington Classic Dressage Spring Challenge CDI. The pair looked stunning and in peak condition, despite the rainy weather, and rode away with The Sanctuary Peak Performance Award.

Sponsored by The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center, the award is presented to a horse with a successful performance due to their conditioning and fitness level. Mabragana, who is showing Idilio at the International level in hopes of qualifying him for the Pan American Games, gave credit for Idilio’s great looks to groom Molly Reynolds. “Molly is the one who makes him look wonderful,” she said.

Idilio, who is owned by Kim Boyer, is in top condition and considered by many to be “poetry in motion.” In addition to being trained to the Grand Prix level, Idilio has won numerous awards for his movement, including winning the Champion Best Movement Award at Celebration in 2001. He is also the top sire for Hampton Green Farm and is the father to Idolo Americano, 2007 Champion American-Bred Stallion at the Devon Breed Show.

Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary, congratulated Mabragana and praised the decorated stallion on his success through the years. “Idilio is an exceptional high performance horse and we are delighted that he won The Sanctuary Peak Performance Award,” McDuffee said. “While Idilio is very successful he is also incredibly handsome. He is the kind of horse who takes your breath away when you see him in the ring.”

McDuffee added that The Sanctuary looks forward to working with Mabragana and Idilio. “We soon will be opening The Sanctuary at PBIEC in Wellington, on the grounds of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Our new facility, is a meeting of a world-class therapy and performance and conditioning center with a world-class show area,” McDuffee said. “Idilio can continue his conditioning regime at The Sanctuary, as we feature some of the most advanced conditioning and rehab equipment in the world.”

The Sanctuary at PBIEC, built in conjunction with the Wellington Equestrian Partners, is a full horse therapy and conditioning center featuring above ground water treadmills, cold saltwater leg spas treatment, two vibration plates with solarium, laser therapy, electromagnetic pulse therapy and a respiratory machine.
