Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum Will Miss European Championships

The German team will compete without star Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum at the European Show Jumping Championships in Herning, Denmark, on Aug. 19-25.

Michaels-Beerbaum, 43, has suffered a spinal compression. She was riding Unbelievable 5 in the Longines Grand Prix of Ireland on Aug. 11 and jumped clear in the first round, but did not start the jump-off due to back pain.

The German team for the European Championships will be: Ludger Beerbaum, Cartsen Otto-Nagel, Christian Ahlmann and Daniel Deusser, with Marcus Ehning as alternate.
