Make A Gift To GallopNYC

One of our participants named Krystle loves riding so much that she has set up an imaginary riding school in her room, where she plays the role of a GallopNYC instructor.

Krystle has cerebral palsy. With a pair of donated riding boots, a pony named Fudge, and your support, Krystle and riders like her can experience the life-changing therapeutic benefits of riding a horse.

Over the past five years, GallopNYC has changed the lives of hundreds of people like Krystle, children and adults with disabilities and special needs, by offering the uniquely effective benefits of therapeutic horseback riding right here in New York City.

GallopNYC helps riders with disabilities walk, talk, connect, focus, behave, and learn, inspiring each one to live life as fully, productively, and independently as possible.

Please support GallopNYC because therapeutic riding works. Parents, teachers, and counselors alike tell us that GallopNYC changes the lives of people with disabilities and special needs. A recent study confirms what we see every day:

“Children with autism between the ages of 7 and 12 showed improved cognition, communication, and motivation after participating in [therapeutic riding], which had a noticeable, positive effect on study participants.

Donors Matter to GallopNYC. At least two-thirds of our riders cannot pay our fees, and their lessons are provided using funds donated by our generous supporters—like you! Only with your support can we offer our riders this life-changing experience.

A series of ten lessons costs $400 – an amount far beyond the reach of most of our riders. Every dollar you give makes a lasting difference.

Almost half of our riders have autism, and others are children with physical disabilities caused by cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, polio, and the like. But we also teach teens at risk and kids who have experienced neglect and abuse. We offer riding for wounded veterans, and we offer physical therapy. With every type of rider, we have seen and measured improvements in crucial life skills, as well as simple joy and confidence in themselves.

Every dollar helps a child who struggles in life to find success, approval, and love.  Children who have been ignored, harassed, or bullied for being different find a safe space at GallopNYC, and parents find an opportunity to take pride in their achievements.

Please make your gift today at www.GallopNYC.org to change the life of a rider with a disability.

Sincerely,

Alicia M. Kershaw, Executive Director
