Madden Wins At CHIO Aachen, U.S. Team Sixth In Nations Cup

Beezie Madden posted a win for the United States at the CHIO Aachen (Germany) on Thursday, July 14, in the Prize of Handwerk speed class.

Madden of Cazenovia, N.Y., rode Prima, owned by Neapolitan Holding Co. LLC, to the quickest round.

Beezie Madden posted a win for the United States at the CHIO Aachen (Germany) on Thursday, July 14, in the Prize of Handwerk speed class.

Madden of Cazenovia, N.Y., rode Prima, owned by Neapolitan Holding Co. LLC, to the quickest round.

Madden and Coral Reef Ranch’s Coral Reef Via Volo posted 4 faults and the team’s only clear round in the Nations Cup. Laura Kraut and Happy Hill Farm’s Cedric contributed double scores of 4 faults to the team’s finish; Margie Engle and Indigo, owned by Griese, Garber, Gladewinds Farm and Hidden Creek Farm posted 12 and 16 faults; and McLain Ward and Antares F, owned by Grant Road Partners, had 4 and 16 faults.

The U.S. team finished sixth, with the Dutch team in the lead.

Madden posted on her blog that despite a lower placing and the gloomy weather, team morale is still high.

“It was a cold, rainy, miserable sort of day, and our team tried our best in the Nations Cup. We didn’t end up where we’d hoped, but team morale is good, and we’re looking ahead to the next Nations Cup with big expectations.”
