Life Goes On While I Ride In Circles

Well, healing is continuing as well as it possibly could! I got to ride Walkabout in the training sessions on my second day because Mark was quite happy with how Ping was going.

Well, healing is continuing as well as it possibly could! I got to ride Walkabout in the training sessions on my second day because Mark was quite happy with how Ping was going.

Right now I’m nervous and excited to get back to competing again. The choice to not run at Southern Pines this coming weekend puts me at a bit of an awkward situation, with Ping scheduled to do the CIC*** at The Fork in early April. Mark is confident that he doesn’t need the run at Southern Pines, but I’ve decided I’m leaving the final decision up to Phillip, as I feel as though he knows Ping so well.

Phillip, by the way, rode Indie at Pine Top for me over the weekend in his second preliminary horse trial, and he won on his dressage score of 26.4! I’m so thankful to have such a great person to keep him competing while I’m broken, especially since Phillip has so many to ride of his own. I’m hoping he’ll ride Indie one more time at Southern Pines!

My fellow TPF rider Ryan Wood did an amazing job riding Beth Battel’s Dream Boat for me in the novice and ended on his 30.0 dressage mark. Ryan will have a crack with him at his first training this weekend at Southern Pines. Again I am thankful to have Ryan to ride him.

In the meantime, I’ll be at home trotting around in circles! But I hope all of eventing land has a good one at the upcoming events!
