Last year, they finished eighth in the Jersey Fresh CCI*** (N.J.), seventh in an advanced division at Morven Park (Va.) and won an intermediate division at Plantation Field (Pa.). This spring, they placed ninth in an advanced division at Pine Top (Ga.) and 10th in advanced at Poplar Place Farm (Ga.).

Jimmy’s Prediction: It’s nice to watch the lightbulbs in a rider’s chandelier come on, one by one. While this is Lauren’s first attempt at Rolex Kentucky, she’s well prepared for the effort. She’s not there yet in terms of being able to beat the best, but every time I see her she gets a little closer. Every year for this article I award an imaginary “Whodat?” trophy for the rider who comes out of nowhere in his or her first year at Rolex Kentucky and is the highest-placed Rolex rookie. This year I predict Lauren Kieffer will win the “Whodat?” trophy.
