Lauren Hough And Laura Kraut Earn A Bye For WEG Show Jumping Long List

The U.S. Equestrian Federation Ad Hoc Committee on Selection has named the horse and rider combinations of Lauren Hough on Quick Study and Laura Kraut on Cedric to the Show Jumping Long List for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Lexington, Ky., Sept. 25-Oct. 10.

The U.S. Equestrian Federation Ad Hoc Committee on Selection has named the horse and rider combinations of Lauren Hough on Quick Study and Laura Kraut on Cedric to the Show Jumping Long List for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Lexington, Ky., Sept. 25-Oct. 10.

The selectors may recommend up to six of the 15 partnerships that will make up the Long List, regardless of their participation or placing in the selection trials. The remaining nine combinations will be chosen according to their ranking at the conclusion of the USEF Selection Trials for the U.S. Show Jumping Team, which run Feb.25-March 7 in Wellington, Fla.

Hough and Quick Study (owned by Laura and Meredith Mateo) and Kraut and Cedric (owned by Happy Hill Farm) both jumped two immaculate clear rounds in Round 1 and Round 2 of the Selection Trials. They join Sapphire and McLain Ward, who were named to the Long List last week.

The 15 horse-and-rider combinations on the Long List will travel to Europe and compete at in CSIOs La Baule (France), Rome (Italy), St. Gallen (Switzerland), Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Falsterbo (Sweden), Aachen (Germany), Hickstead (England) and Dublin (Ireland) before the WEG team is selected in late September.
