Lexington, KY – August 14, 2014 – There are just three events remaining in the Hagyard Challenge Series, but the competition is heating up with the addition of a $10,000 bonus for the second place finishers in the Series’ Standings. Sponsored by the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, the Hagyard Challenge Series consists of seven grand prix classes held during the 2014 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park. Following the final event, a cash prize of $50,000 will be awarded to the rider accumulating the most points throughout the series. New this year, the runner up will earn a $10,000 prize for their efforts in the Series.

Pablo Barrios holds a strong lead in the standings after winning three of the four events. Shane Sweetnam is currently ranked second having won the most recent $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic during the Kentucky Summer Classic, but young rider Emanuel Andrade is hot on his heels after earning multiple top finishes.
