Wellington, FL – August 2, 2014 – The Los Patojos Project Completion Challenge is the first of its kind, with the Samuel-Sanford Family of Canada generously matching dollar for dollar. Los Patojos’ alternative education program currently operates out of Juan Pablo Romero Fuentes’ family home. The opportunity to build a school of their own is a dream come true as it will enable them to double their capacity, expand programming, and increase sustainability through fund-generating activities. This program is changing the community of Jocotenango and the country of Guatemala, as evidenced by Romero Fuentes’ recent nomination as a CNN Hero. Help us to put their “Dreams and ideas in action”. Los Patojos urgently requires additional funding in order to retain the current construction crew and allow the project to be completed in the fastest, most cost efficient manner. We invite you to view Juan Pablo’s story on CNN and assist in Los Patojos’ Project Completion Challenge by donating on http://www.justworldinternational.org/.

Following the airing of a CNN Heroes segment featuring Romero Fuentes, the founder of JustWorld’s Guatemala partner project Los Patojos, the Samuel-Sanford family of Canada initiated the Project Completion Challenge. The family had previously visited the project earlier this year and were impressed by the difference that the project was making for the children and for the community. The Samuel-Sanford family has committed to match all new donations to the project up to a maximum of $100,000. If the maximum challenge threshold is reached, the entire construction budget will be financed! By donating now, you will actually double your gift and the benefit to the project in this urgent time of need.

Please consider making a timely and transformative gift. JustWorld needs you. If you would like to discuss your potential involvement in the Challenge, please contact Jessica Newman at jnewman@justworldinternational.org or give to JustWorld at your earliest convenience.

Ideally we would like to complete this round of fundraising by October 1, 2014. This will allow the construction of the project to continue uninterrupted and the grand opening to be held on January 26, 2015. Every dollar counts – especially when it is being doubled! JustWorld thanks you ahead of time for your continued support.
