The First Days in Kentucky

Dear Rita,

The whole dressage team arrived in Lexington safe and sound last weekend. The team is settled in over at the Horse Park, and W is a guest at Reese Koffler-Stanfield’s stable in Georgetown. Reese’s place is fully equipped, professional and an ideal place to train for the week, so I am very happy to be there. Here is a short video clip of Reese’s stable and the Team Processing that took place at the USEF offices at the Horse Park:

W is in fine form, and I have no doubt that he will be ready to step up to the plate if we are called up to service before next weekend. Have a look at W’s grooming antics and a clip from our workout this morning:

Last but not least, Kentucky has a colorful culture all its own. As reserve rider, I have a bit more time and freedom on my hands than some of my teammates. People who know me well are saying, “Uh oh.” Not to worry, Rita! I just stopped off at a Catfish Lake to see what was going on! Got to interview some locals about the sport:

I’m Catherine Haddad, and I’m saying it like it is from Georgetown, Kentucky!

Training Tip of the Day: Do you prepare your horse for a good workout with proper grooming?
