A young rider competing at U.S. Pony Finals (Ky.) is not injured after falling from her pony.
The rider was on a small pony in the schooling area before her flat class when the pony lost its footing, and the rider was thrown. EMTs at the Kentucky Horse Park attended to the rider before she was transported to the local hospital.

The U.S. Equestrian Federation released the following statement regarding the incident: “During today’s small under saddle class at the U.S. Pony Finals, a participant suffered a fall from her pony. Onsite medical staff immediately tended to her care, upon which she was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center where the participant underwent further observation. Her pony was unharmed. An update on the participant’s condition will be given as information becomes available.”
The rider’s parents said the girl is unharmed and requested her name be withheld because of privacy concerns.
