Veteran Brazilian show jumper Rodrigo Pessoa laid down the trip to beat in the $280,000 FEI World Cup Grand Prix CSI-W aboard Citizenguard Cadjanine Z, but 22-year-old Jessica Springsteen did her best to catch him on Vindicat W on March 8 at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla.

“She is not an easy mare, but she has a lot of potential, a lot of scope, and she’s really a fighter,” said Pessoa of his ride. “She has her own way, and we are starting to understand her better, and she really turned a corner here in Florida.”
