Eventer Guillaume Pucci Dies After Cross-Country Fall In November

French rider Guillaume Pucci died on June 14, seven months after a fall on cross-country at the Le Pouget CIC** (France) that left him in a medically induced coma.

The 28-year-old rider sustained a cranial hematoma on Nov. 16 when he fell from Schatzie Du Parc at fence 8 on the course. The 9-year-old mare was uninjured in the fall.

Pucci was an experienced advanced-level rider and was the head trainer at his family’s L’Oxer de Bellevue equestrian center in Mérignac, France. He had been partnered with Schatzie Du Parc, a Selle Français (Greg De Hann—Elsa De La Luth SF, Count Ivor), at the two-star level since 2013. 

Pucci also represented France at the 2014 Nations Cup at Boekelo (the Netherlands) with Enzo Van’t Vennehof.
