Riders tackled a $35,000 speed accumulator class this evening, but with an additional catch—they did it in costume. Some riders opted for a low-key outfit but others decked out themselves and their horses.
Check out eight of our favorite costumes from the evening:
Lisa Goldman showed the crowd how she trained her dragon (Morocco) to fly across fences with speed.
“Dorothy” Candice King jumped over the rainbow with her Tin Man, the Bellissimo LLC’s Bugatti VDL.

Aaron Vale sported the baseball uniform of his owner, Troy Glaus, aboard Quidam’s Good Luck.
The most terrifying creature of the night was Conor Swail as the Green Orc, mounted on Susan and Ariel Grange’s mare Martha Louise. His horse even wore a small strand of lights, plugged into a battery pack on his breastplate!
A holiday favorite was hopping fences around the Alltech Arena—Oliver Philippaerts played a convincing Easter bunny mounted on H&M Legend of Love.

Sharn Wordley was an excellent Batman aboard Hickstead’s Axel. (He removed the cape before jumping the fences!)
Schuyler Riley raced around the course in her gray and red Audi (Navalo de Poheton), owned by the Wolfstone Stables & Sales Inc.
Gandalf and Shadowfax (played by Kyle Timm and Apex Equestrian Center’s Platinum) came back from Middle Earth to grace the CP National Horse Show crowd with their presence. Timm gets bonus points for riding in that big beard!
