All equine herpes virus (EHV-1) quarantines have been lifted according to statements on the California Department of Food and Agriculture and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine websites.
The CDFA states that no facilities in the state are under quarantine as of Feb. 14. The month-long quarantines of both Riverside and Orange County facilities were put in place following the EHV-1 positive test results of resident horses. CDFA-led epidemiologic investigations suggested that the two incidents were not related.

The North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed that the month-long quarantine of a Rockingham County facility has also been lifted. Only one horse tested positive for EHV-1, and has since recovered.
