The Harrison family of Double H Farm in Ridgefield, Conn., and Wellington, Fla., has bought half of the talented gray gelding Cornet d’Amour, who showed to great results with German rider Daniel Deusser at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.).

“After their success there was a lot of interest in the horse. His owner [Stephan Conter of Stephex Stables] didn’t want to sell him, but with the offers he was getting he felt like needed to,” said Cayce Harrison Judge of Double H.

“My husband [U.S. grand prix rider Quentin Judge] and I are good friends with Daniel; we have known him for a long time and he was in our wedding. We got the partnership together to be able to keep the horse for Daniel for longer. Daniel is a great rider, a good friend and a very hard worker so we knew it would be a good investment in a very nice horse and a great way to support Daniel so he can keep riding Cornet D’Amour for long time.”

Deusser and Cornet d’Amour, a 10-year-old Westfalian (Cornet Obolensky—Daquari, Dammiani), served on the winning German Nations Cup team at the 2012 Spruce Meadows Masters (Alberta) and won the $300,000 FEI World Cup Grand Prix at WEF. Judge characterized Double H as a “silent partner” in Cornet d’Amour’s career. “Daniel is in charge of his show schedule and Coronet D’Amour’s regular care, so Daniel will continue to direct the horse’s life,” she said. The gelding, who has returned to Europe, might compete again in North America at the Spruce Meadows venue this summer.
