Wellington, Florida – For the second time this season, Alvaro ‘Doda’ Miranda claimed a $3,000 bonus for wearing SSG Gloves on his way to victory.  Having won the Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series Round II during the second week of competition, the Brazilian Olympian returned to the International Arena to take top honours in the $125,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series Round VII at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.

A total of 115 horse-rider combinations entered the International Arena in the hopes of claiming victory in the weekly Thursday event with 30 passing the test to qualify for the jump-off.  Speed became the name of the game with Miranda overtaking the lead by posting a clear jump-off round in a time of 37.63 seconds.  None who followed were able to catch his time, giving Miranda his second victory in the Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series with AD Uutje.

As part of the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion, Miranda was awarded a $3,000 bonus for wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on his way to victory.  Having also won during week two of competition, Miranda brought his total bonus money won to date so far this season to $6,000.

“In the beginning, I was riding in the gloves only for the bonus, but I like the gloves so much now that we bought 10 pairs the other day,” said Miranda, noting that he is now wears SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on a regular basis.

“The riders may have bought the gloves to use for the bonus prize, but what is really good is that after they try them, the riders choose to wear them in other classes,” explained Miranda.  “It was a clever marketing idea, and it is working well because it is a very good product.”

SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the High Junior Jumper Classic competitions.  If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with bonus money during the awards presentation.  A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Beval Saddlery, Hadfields, Jods and Running Fox.
