To the tune of Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah (A Letter From Camp), by Allan Sherman:
Hello Mother, Hello Father
Here I am at Camp Piaffer
Midge is splendid, just as always
When I sit down in piaffe, there his hind legs stay!
Had my first quick lesson early.
Midgey feels super, not too burly.
Super half-pass, but those pirouettes

Michael says still aren’t quite right, which I do not get.
Done quite early, twiddling my thumbs.
Planning stuff to get me off my bum.
I’d go running, heel ain’t paining,
and I’m sure it would be fun if it weren’t raining.
Won’t go run, it’s quite disgusting!
Won’t go run, no splishing splashing!

Could get struck by lightning, chased
by wild dogs or lost! That ain’t no fun.
Instead I will go out shopping.
Dover Saddlery is calling!
Then I’ll eat lunch, big sigh, what else?
This life of leisure’s hazardous to my health!
